I am in several causal games right now and I've been trying out new strategies....but then when the turn is finally up I can't remember which game had which strategy. Is there a way to see which one you were using or do you just have to check the specs on the armies to see which have bonuses to jog your memory? Or am I the only one with this issue

Yeah, click on "units" menu. You will see all the available units in that game/scenario, and your strategy at the top. You can also see the buff of the strategy on your units.

Well....I was skeptical of this so I ran a test. When in the open games area I clicked at the bottom and changed my strategy to relentless attack, which I never use. But that's what strategy was shown in the units menu in my casual game even though I'm 100% sure I didn't select that one to start the game. Is it possible to switch strategies mid game? Is that what I did?

No, that's not what you did. Unit tab in casual game will show the strategy you had turned on the moment you opened the game, not reflecting the actual strategy you are using in the game. Nevertheless, the unit specifications (cost, range, HP, Att., Def., Crit., etc.) will reflect the actual strategy you are using in the game. This issue has been reported previously, even suggested that from the casual game lobby it should be possible to see the games you are in (the star), the time of the game (clock, which was also an upgrade in 2013) and the strategy being used by you (still not available).
