Who would win a modern day war in the Balkans? Allies, nuclear/ chemical weapons and no morale are included, but economy and population are.

Well, if aliances are included...what about NATO and Russia, they, or someone else can't interfere? If aliances are only posible between countries listed, then it could go something like this:

Italy always had interest in Croatian and Slovenian coast, but again they have most ''similarities'' with them, idk about Italy and Greece relation.. Maybe they would ally Hungary, or Bulgaria.. Oh yeah, there is Albania too.. they have some weird relationship.

Slovenians maybe give impresion of phlegmatic yodeling fags, but those fuckers can be ruthless, it is litle known that they basicly ethnically cleansed Slovenia from germans at the end of ww2. They didn't fucked around with military drills in former Yugoslavia like the rest of republics that gone into that like in a picknick, to roast boars and drink. But they are really small, i gues they would ally Croatia for sure, and just sit in their mountains.

Hungarians are fucking loosers (both ww's lost, just like bulgaria) and have a lot of reasons to war, most likely for north Serbia's region Vojvodina.

Bulgarians are ultimate backstabbers of Serbia, loosers, and no one likes them. Their target would be Macedonia but since there is no Macedoniai, south Serbia, Aegean Greece maybe.

Greece could go south Albania, and if shit goes mad who knows. I guess they would ally Serbia, it looks logical from this perspective. Idk for others. Biggest and best army, they could probably go alone and do well.

Albania have its dreams about Greek and Serbian lands, so that one is obvious.

And since there is no Bosnia, Macedonia and Montenegro Serbia would be crippled a lot since those would be integrated fast into Serbia or at least becomed alies with. Idk what is the status of Kosovo. War with Albania and Croatia for sure, most likely with Bulgaria and Hungary too, it is in the midle of war atacked from all sides.

Of course, this is all based on recent experiences and stereotypes, who knows what would go on for real. But if we set things like this we have:

Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Albania (lets call them Axis) vs Serbia, Greece (Entente), vs Bulgaria (backstabbers).
If you cant enter neutral lands, Serbia would be atacked by land from north/northwest
by Croatia and Hungary, and east and south by Bulgaria.If Kosovo is neutral then there is no land border with Albania. So, land front for Serb is biggest, Croatia have smallest. If we count sea as neytral, then Greece is exposed to Italy and other axis acros Italy and sea.

Let's say, Greece crushes Albania fast by land, even with axis troops in it, they can't save it. Meanwhile Croatia, Hungary and Bulgaria are slowly pushing into Serbia, mostly because of combined more manpower and equipment divided to two fronts. Then superior Greek navy and airforce starts pushing Italy, and by land more preasure to Bulgaria whick makes Bulgaria to relive some preasure off Serbia, and Serbia hold east front, and stoping north advance of axis. Public opinion in Italy is puting preasure on goverment and Italy is out of war, kinda surenders (what a surprise). Must pay war reparations to Greeks. Now Greek navy goes to Adriatic sea for Croatian coast. With no naval and aerial support from Italy, Croatia must pull back some force from serbian front, but that would be devastating, so ceasefire begins. Peace talk and negotiations, all former borders are set back, since Axis lost they pay huge war reparations to Entente. Only border change is in Albania, south Albania is now part of Greece and north is under Greek protectorate.
