SPREAD THE NEW-s You saw what I did there? This thread introduces developed acronyms and abbreviations through compulsive observation of competitive games and may or may not help at all but I'll take my chances on how the forum reacts. (Despite of that, I still suck at competitive games but hey) edit: you can only choose 1 option? No multiple choices? o.O In this case, choose the best or fits the competitive game Communication between allies plays a vital role on said matches yet consumes time, given competitive games are divided between turn observation, commanding, walling, and chatting (and often--trolling). The latter is given the least attention. Players will try and even avoid wasting time on chat unless you're confident and has time to spare. That is why language evolves. Because people are either lazy or smart and obviously, im the former. ___________ 1. Nuke To attack a city with huge amount of units. /In comparison with stack; stacking is either used to defend-or-attack a capital or a strategic point/ ___________ 2. Choke Point (abb., CP) A location on the game map where the topography restricts access or a strategic point/ strategic stronghold, expensive for the enemy to capture once captured. Usually a strategic city that is vital for captured country. /In association of the abbreviation cap-captured/ (A). Hamburg, Istanbul-a mountain pass, or a shallow point (or whatever hamburg is); lifelines of Germany and Turkey. eg. cp hamburg i cap austria nxt turn ____________ 3. Strafe-Strafing In Aviation, it is used to attack ground troops from a low-flying aircraft. In Atwar, it can be used to break walls in a wider margin to elicit paranoia eg. strafe low balkans ____________ 4. BnZ-Boom and Zoom In Aviation or in animal kingdom. It is play style that aims to take advantage of a high energy state to bounce the enemy, avoiding any prolonged fighting in order to conserve speed and/or altitude. In Atwar, it can be referred to city-hopping or maneuvering a stack through enemy territory by capturing hostile-vital cities to cripple income. It is a strategy used excessively by competitive pros. The idea is to choke strategic points during expansion turn then proceeding to choke or stack another strategic point. eg., SM ukraine nukes athens and wfs romania T1 then nukes Romania at T2 or stacks kiev T2 nice bnz yo Alterations to common abberaviations. 1. TBD/ tbd-past tense of tb. (People tend to be grammatically correct; tbed) 2. RPN-Role Playing Noob. (High rankies who cant defeat a fellow noob in competitive gameplay; a spawn from RP breeding) 3. BI-Blabbering Idiot (Low ranking trolls who taunts/ troll low ranks to break their attention from the game) 4. (A) Halp-help, (B) Nub-Noob, and (C) You call that fight of the century? Because fuck you. I like how profanity is tolerable in this game. buds Pending, gtg train.

1. Nuke Sounds more like an actual nuke (atomic bomb) but yeah, could work 2. Choke Point (abb., CP) Might be hard to find a use for this term. It's hard to classify a city as such except for the WW trenches. 3. Strafe-Strafing I think you're idea isn't that good since "break those walls" is far eassier for me than using some unknown word XD 4. BnZ-Boom and Zoom I'm not completely sure about what the concept is... 2. RPN-Role Playing Noob. I don't get this XD all RP players are noobs 3. BI-Blabbering Idiot Where's the fun in saying abreviated insults????

Germany-hamburg, austria turkey-istanbul, izmir, romana, athens Ukraine-odessa Italy-Milan, naples UK-Birmingham Spain-Bilbao Denmark-Malmo Sweden-Gothenburg Greece-Patras
We commonly use, break paris or break berlin. But the term generalizes the concept of breaking walls in a marginal scale. Like, strafe scandanavia than to pinpoint each country, strafe high-low/sup-inf/north-south balkans, strafe swiss (and surrounding cities like milan and turin)

The point of my clowning around is to say that what for you might be a choke point, might not be for another person, it's far better to specify the city you want to attack just to avoid possible misunderstandings right? XD
Isn't the insult aiming to make the other guy realize what he actually is and hope he complains in some way??

It's used both as a noun and a term; does not classify cities of such.
Havent I used that correctly or want me to cite another sentence example? I reckon competitive pros knew which cities to stack their units. Why Germany wfs holland and walls hamburg, why UK walls birmingham, Turkey-istanbul, Ukraine-Odessa and Italy goes nuts whenver Milan is captured or in this case, choked! You use it as a noun ._.

I wish AtWar default map had some rivers that can only be crossed with boat, by air, or through city, as well as some mountains that also can only be crossed by air or though city, so there are more choke points. Would be pretty interesting to see the effects of making Kiev, Frankfurt, and other such currently out-in-the-open cities choke points.

At last, someone who understands choke points!
Yes and no (I guess) The term capturing is only associated conventionally. The term choke points are only effective on areas hard to maneuver such as straights or secret passages adjacent to vital cities. It's a widely used strategy by the military (in the real world ofc). And the abbreviation is shorten and is ease of use: C-A-P, and C-P. Viola! As for romania and athens, those are vital to turkey as austria is to germany, holland to UK.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm just dumb or is it actually hard to understand. I'd be really confused if someone used that word in the middle of a game, I'd be like "wtf is this guy asking me to do". For me it's much more simple to just tell me to capture a certain city
