I keep gettin this error message when I try to edit some typos in our cln forum. For some reason the word 'upd@ted'' only displays 'd'. And when I try to correct it I get this.

I think Sif refers to the impossibility of writing the word 'upd_a_ted' normally. At least for me the word you edited on his posts is now appearing as a 'd'. I also tried to edit it and the same thing happened.

The word "up_date" does not appear in any posts. The "u-p-d-a-t-e" portion is just like you never even posted it. Thats why the "d" is there in "up_dated" - the D is the only part left when the word is stricken.

maybe adding escape characters or somethin will prevent this.

Type in a vertical bar. That's Shift + \ in the US English layout.

Right. I totally forgot that I disabled insert, update and select after a hacking attempt. A bit over-cautious, since there are other measures in place anyway.
