Let's visit this- we all have tried to be distant from our devices, grumble over our tendency to check them pretty often and what's the reason? You got it right: Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and add your next favourite app. We have heard the generic lament, "Don't sit on your phone! study!" from our wellwishers but still it isn't easy to correct the bad habit. Is it because probably social media was the subject we were never 'taught' before? or we STILL don't know how to operate it in the most productive way possible? Both. The only way we can create a healthy social media habit is by cultivating good ones. Bookmarking educational sites, infotainment pages, listening to intellectual podcasts are examples. Gather information about your favourite sports and brainstorm about improving your game. Search for an efficient study routine and also how you can improve your grades. Subscribe to a dictionary webpage and learn each word new day. Coming to social media, follow knowledgable pages and people. There are many current affairs and G.K. pages out there. Engage in intellectual conversations online to improve your language and caliber at various portals including Facebook groups and Instagram Pages. Follow worthy Youtube Channels and limit those not required. Maintain an interesting blog of yours and share it with your friends. I suggest having an account on Quora and expanding your knowledge. There are many other routes to the same destination - healthy social media habit. Bit by bit, improve yourself and your life. You have to use social media, not end up social media using you. Explore!

Social media usually brings to mind thoughts of addiction or entertainment, but is social media inherently bad? Although many of us are addicted to Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram, social media is not limited to these platforms. For instance, social media allows us to access new information and learn about new things. In other words, social media is not inherently good or bad, it depends on how one uses it. To use social media in a "good" way requires one to end the habit of constantly searching through comments on YouTube or Facebook—or to at least curtail the habit. Of course, ending a habit is difficult, but replacing it with a good habit makes the process much easier. Herein lies the "other" side of social media, the side that many tend to neglect: its academic value. By following academic YouTube channels, browsing through Quora, reading blogs, listening to a podcast, or engaging in intellectual discourse online, these actions—this habit—enables us to learn about new things instead of watching mindless entertainment. Of course, it's OK to play a game or watch a fun video, but replacing a habit takes hard work and self-discipline, and it's important to take the process seriously. Realizing the "good" in social media will make us not only into better students, but better people.
